골프 팁: 얼라인먼트 스틱 스테이션으로 칩 샷 정확도 높이기

Most amateur golfers lose strokes around the green—not from distance, but from poor contact. Whether you’re chunking it short or skulling it long, the problem usually comes down to setup and swing path.

This week, QuickFixGolf’s Darren deMaille shares a dead-simple way to sharpen your short game using just a few alignment sticks.

Build Your Chipping Station

To create your practice setup, you’ll need three alignment sticks:

  1. Stick #1: Lay this down along your target line

  2. Stick #2: Place a second stick perpendicular to that line—this will act as your obstacle

  3. Stick #3: Insert the third stick into the ground at an angle, about the height of a water bottle behind your ball

Now, place the ball 6 inches in front of the perpendicular stick.

Check out the set up here:

The Technique: Clean Contact & Better Direction

  • Start with the club shaft vertical—this promotes a straight-back, straight-through stroke

  • Swing without touching the perpendicular stick on your backswing or follow-through

  • This forces the proper angle of attack, helping you avoid chunking or flipping at the ball

  • The angled stick behind the ball reinforces proper distance control and clean turf interaction

Why It Works

This drill gives you instant feedback. If you’re too shallow, you’ll hit the obstacle. If you flip your wrists, your contact will suffer. The station reinforces solid fundamentals—like shaft lean, quiet hands, and a crisp downward strike.

Set up this alignment stick station and make your chipping a strength—not a weakness.

Tommy Fleetwood has been heating up this season, and while he still hasn’t notched a PGA TOUR win, his ball striking is turning heads. This week, Darren deMaille from Quick Fix Golf breaks down one of the drills Fleetwood relies on to stay sharp—and it’s a powerful 4-in-1 station that can improve nearly every part of your swing.

How to Set It Up:

Alignment stick on the ground: Helps guide your target line.

Alignment stick angled in the ground: Matches your club’s natural plane.

Obstacle (foam brick or water bottle): Sits just outside the ball.

Whether you’re just starting out or looking to fine-tune your form, QuickFixGolf.com‘s Darren deMaille has a step-by-step method that makes improvement feel inevitable. Here’s how to build lasting muscle memory and real results on the course:

1. Start Without a Club

It might sound odd, but the best way to start is with no club at all. Darren demonstrates placing your arms across your chest and using a stick through your belt loops to practice hip rotation and isolate body motion.

2. Try the Freezer Drill

Grab your club and swing into position—then freeze. Hold your backswing for five seconds and […]

클럽 페이스 컨트롤이 중요한 이유

Still leaving the face open at impact? You’re not alone—and your club face might be costing you strokes. If your shots consistently miss right (for right-handed golfers), the problem likely isn’t your path—it’s your face angle at impact.

Meet the Screwdriver Drill

In this week’s tip, Darren deMaille from QuickFixGolf.com shares a powerful image to help train your lead hand to rotate and square the face.

Picture this: there’s a screwdriver in the vent hole of your grip. As you start your downswing, you’re tightening a screw with […]
