Wedgewood Golf Course offers the golfing public 18 holes in the heart of the Lehigh Valley. Only minutes south of Allentown, east of Bethlehem and north of Quakertown, the course is easily accessible from the I-78 and Route 309 exchange at Center Valley. Reading is just 35 minutes to the west, the New Jersey border is just 15 minutes away and its really only a short drive from the Poconos and Philadelphia. The original 18 holes opened in 1963 and was renamed the Pine and Maple Nines with the addition of the Oak Nine in 2000. An expansive 40-acre driving range with all-grass hitting areas and target flags will get your game ready for the challenges of this gem of a public golf course.

If you’re shifting side-to-side in your backswing, you’re not pivoting — you’re swaying. And that’s killing your consistency.

This week, Darren deMaille from QuickFixGolf.com shares a visual and physical drill that’s as simple as starting a lawnmower. Literally.

Why Pivot Matters

Most amateur golfers lose power and control because they sway instead of turning. A proper pivot lets your lead shoulder work down toward the ball — not across your body — and that’s the key to solid contact.
