Walking isn't allowed at Broad Run, and once you see the hills you'll understand why. Rees Jones had 372 acres of Amish Pennsylvania countryside to work with, and the holes wind past ponds, Broad Run Creek and natural wetlands. It's bentgrass from tee to green. There's a grass range with target greens and a short game area if you want to warm up, and the club pros teach group and private lessons.
Food is at The Grille, inside the historic Bordley House. It takes its cue from John Beale Bordley, a Baltimore judge who settled on a big Chester County farm, and the menu changes with the seasons. You can eat inside or out, looking over the course.
