TeeTime Golf Pass Golf Tip of the Week: Fix Your Club Face

club face setup

If your shots are veering off target, your grip might not be the issue, it could be your club face alignment. In this week’s TeeTime Golf Pass Golf Tip of the Week, Darren deMaille from QuickFixGolf.com explains how to identify and correct a misaligned club face before you even swing.

What You’ll Need:

  • An alignment stick
  • A sleeve of golf balls

The Drill:

  • Place the alignment stick down parallel to your target line.
  • Set the club face square to the sleeve of balls—ensuring it’s perpendicular to the stick.
  • Use this visual setup to understand what square, closed, and open faces look like.

Why It Matters:

Square face = straight shot

Closed face + right aim = draw

Open face + left aim = fade

It’s as simple as that.  Now that you know what “square” looks like, you’ll start hitting shots with more control and confidence.
