Shamrock Farms began with a single green. Bob Stenger built it in his backyard for his dad, John. One green became two, then three, and his dad wanted to know why he'd stop there. Bob kept building, and the course opened in July 2003.
The land has been the Stengers' since the 1970s, back when it was a farm with cows, sheep and hay. Now it's an 18-hole par 3 walking course on 23 acres, with grass tee boxes and bent grass greens. On No. 6, a pond with a fountain sits between tee and green. Miss left of the green on the 11th and you're out of bounds, or as the Stengers put it, in the corn field.
Wendy and Bob run the course together. Wendy teaches beginners and novice players. The pavilion sells snacks and drinks for a break between rounds.
