Bardstown CC at Maywood details

Maywood will challenge any golfer as it was previously ranked the fourth most difficult course in the Louisville area by Business First Magazine. Measuring at more than 7,200 yards from the championship tees, this Bardstown golf course has five sets of tees, so both seasoned and rookie golfers can enjoy their round. First opening in 1995, Maywood was voted one of the best new golf courses by Golf Digest Magazine with the layout being originally designed by renowned golf architect David Pfaff of Carmel, California. After Chris Osborne and his family took over ownership of Bardstown Country Club in 2003, they immediately began an extensive program of renovations for both the course and clubhouse. Spencer Holt, a protégé of designer Arthur Hills, was hired to make improvements on the course. Some of Holt’s most recognized work took place on Half Moon Bay and The Cardinal Club. Using Holt’s direction and the Osborne family golf knowledge, bunkers, tee boxes and a few greens were redesigned while many holes were lengthened. Maywood will be an exciting test of golf for every level of golfer with the course being able to be played from 4600 yards or all the way back to over 7200 yards for the championship caliber player. Players will find the course offers an appealing blend of traditional golf with the features of a links-style design.
