Byron Nelson won the 1943 Kentucky State Open at Lindsey with a 236. The course was built in 1933 on Fort Knox and named for MG Julian R. Lindsey, who had a big hand in its layout and design.
The Bermuda fairways roll and are contoured for long and short hitters alike: big hitters face narrow landing areas, while shorter hitters get wide ones. Two lakes add to the scenery, and they water the course as well. You can take private or group lessons, and Lindsey hosts retirement and promotion parties too.
