Mount Pleasant has been tournament tested over the years by both professional and amateur golfers. In 1956, Arnold Palmer secured his second victory in the United States on the professional golf tour. It was also home of the Eastern Invitational Open from 1950-1958, and returned for one year in 1962 before moving to Doral in 1963. Mt.
