Maryland National climbs and drops through the Catoctin Mountain foothills, an Arthur Hills design threaded through woods and wetlands. The club dates to 2002, and the 18-hole par 71 has five sets of tees. The hole guide rates No. 11 its toughest, a sweeping dogleg right of 428 yards. Its championship tee is the property's high point, and a deep bunker guards the whole right side of the fairway. No. 12, a 246-yard par 3, drops 70 feet from tee to green, and the club calls No. 17, a downhill par 3, its signature hole. The range has three tiers of natural bent grass and five target greens. Schroyer's Tavern has a stone fireplace, a full bar and a covered deck over the opening tee and final green. Groups can book the Eagle's Nest, up on the top tee of No. 10, which holds 40 guests.
