Furnace Bay details

Located in historic Perryville MD, Furnace Bay Golf Course is an 18-hole, daily fee, public facility. The course was first opened in May of 2000. With the growing pains far behind us, the upcoming season will provide golfers with a much more mature course. One will find the greens at Furnace Bay to be as good as any in the area. With Bent grass from tee box to green you'd be hard pressed to find a more enjoyable or affordable round anywhere as our rates have not increased this year compared to an ever changing economy. Give our friendly staff a call to book your upcoming golf outings now. With a large open air pavilion just behind the clubhouse, we can provide a full range of services to make your golf outing or special occasion very enjoyable. Furnace Bay is a non-penetrating spike facility.

If you’re shifting side-to-side in your backswing, you’re not pivoting — you’re swaying. And that’s killing your consistency.

This week, Darren deMaille from QuickFixGolf.com shares a visual and physical drill that’s as simple as starting a lawnmower. Literally.

Why Pivot Matters

Most amateur golfers lose power and control because they sway instead of turning. A proper pivot lets your lead shoulder work down toward the ball — not across your body — and that’s the key to solid contact.
