The original nine holes at Green Hill are still the most rolling on the course, the club says. They opened in May 1927, on land a group of 25 men had bought in 1925.
Later, brothers Pratt and Lay Phillips made the place Willow Brook Lodge, a summer retreat for their family.
Then in 1954 New York architect Alfred H. Tull was hired to expand the course. A second nine opened to make it 18 holes.
