Squirrel Hollow will tell you it's not your traditional golf course. Once a year it puts on a murder mystery outing with Whatado Theater, and you interview suspects out on the course. Every October brings Superintendent's Revenge, when the man who fixed everyone's divots all season gets even with creative pin placements.
Jenny Andrews, a lifelong Battle Creek resident, bought the course in 2016. She's proud that The Squirrel is one of the few golf courses in the country owned by a woman.
Monday through Thursday evenings go to leagues, mostly two-person scrambles, plus a morning league just for educators. The clubhouse hosts birthdays, wedding receptions and corporate events, and it's a mile south of I-94.
