Huron Meadows Metropark details

Huron Meadows Metropark Golf Course opened its doors in 1983 and has been a premier course within the Brighton area since. Designed by Sue Nyquist, this course challenges any skill level and offers four sets of tees that play between 5300-6700 yards. Hole #6 can be a challenging par 5, but with a very long drive and well placed second shot, you will be in good shape. Be sure to practice that long drive at our driving range before your round. Located off US-23 and within minutes of downtown Brighton, the course features popular amenities like a practice putting green, driving range, full grill and beverage service as well as plenty of wildlife and nature, making it course to visit more than once.

If you’re shifting side-to-side in your backswing, you’re not pivoting — you’re swaying. And that’s killing your consistency.

This week, Darren deMaille from QuickFixGolf.com shares a visual and physical drill that’s as simple as starting a lawnmower. Literally.

Why Pivot Matters

Most amateur golfers lose power and control because they sway instead of turning. A proper pivot lets your lead shoulder work down toward the ball — not across your body — and that’s the key to solid contact.
