Ray Hearn and Jerry Matthews set out to bring a corner of Scotland to Farwell. The result is a links style layout with bent grass tees and fairways, wetlands, hundreds of mounds and 73 bunkers. It began as Larry Schofield's family farm, funded by selling shares locally, and the first 9 holes opened in June 1992.
From the blue tees it's a par 72 of 6,563 yards. The card calls No. 6 the signature hole, a 206-yard par 3 from the blues that's all carry over water to a big green ringed by bunkers. No. 4 is a par 3 over a marsh.
There's a practice range, a putting green and the Eagle's Landing Bar & Grill.
