Local farmers thought Marion "Spitz" Eipperle was crazy. He was putting greens in a corn field. He and his wife Helen began carving the course out of their farm in late 1971, and it opened Memorial weekend 1973. The family's run it ever since. It's four miles west of Monroe.
Their friend Harley Hodges, who'd built Whiteford Valley, did the layout. Two creeks run through it, and you'll meet them on the front nine and the back.
Tim Katanski's 60 is the men's course record, and the women's is a 63 by Olivia Reed.
