Tom Bendelow designed this course in 1898. It's still Bendelow's original layout, where Woodland meets Maple Avenue in Edison, and anyone can play it.
The course says it's known for its challenging greens, and there are plenty of uneven lies, with three par 3s that play over 150 yards.
There are lessons and club fittings, and First Tee Metropolitan New York has a program here for kids from Plainfield, Newark, Elizabeth and Edison.
