Larry Nelson, a World Golf Hall of Fame member who won two PGA Championships and the U.S. Open, laid out Centennial's 27 holes across 340 acres in Carmel, at the meeting point of Westchester, Putnam and Fairfield Counties. Nelson says no site he has seen was more naturally suited to golf, with its rolling hills, ponds and rock outcroppings.

Dave Pelz designed the short game area: three putting greens and two chipping and bunker areas beside a double ended range with 65 tees on grass and artificial turf and bunkered target greens. Dave Pelz Golf Schools run here, the Centennial Grille Room is open to the public, and the Pavilion and Ryder Cup Room handle parties of up to 200 people.
