Fowler's Mill details

Fowler’s Mill Golf Course is one of the best places to play in the Cleveland, Ohio area especially if you want a real challenge without going too far from the city. Designed by Pete Dye, one of the legends in golf course design, this place has a reputation for being both tough and beautiful. It’s about a half-hour drive from downtown Cleveland, and once you’re there, you’ll see why it’s ranked as one of the top public courses in Ohio—and even the U.S.

What makes Fowler’s Mill stand out is that it has 27 holes, split into three different 9-hole courses: Lake, River, and Maple. You can mix and match them, but the Lake/River combination is the go-to if you want the full experience. From the back tees, it’s over 7,000 yards, but don’t worry, there are tee options for all levels, so you can play it comfortably no matter where you’re at in your golf game.

There are water hazards, a good amount of bunkers (76 across the whole course), and a nice mix of open fairways and tree-lined holes. It’s the kind of place where you’ll have fun but also learn a lot—like how to avoid trouble and navigate tricky greens. And speaking of greens, they’re fast but fair, so they’ll keep you on your toes!

On top of the course itself, they’ve got a great clubhouse with a grille room for grabbing a bite, and even an event space if you ever want to bring friends for a golf outing. The practice facilities are solid, too, with a driving range and putting and chipping greens to help you warm up before your round.
