Left of the 15th tee at Delphos there's a carving with the names of golfers who've made an ace on that hole. The club calls it your last chance at an ace.
Delphos started as nine holes on what used to be the Remlinger farm, out on Shenk Road. The clubhouse, built in 1961, grew out of the farmhouse already on the property. Leonard Schmutte laid out those first holes, and the club brought him back for nine more holes, which opened in 1976. The Little Auglaize River gets involved on two holes, and two narrow ditches cross or run alongside seven holes.
Every green is bent grass, and every one slopes from back to front.
