Richard Palmer and his sons designed and built the North Course at Thunderbird Hills, a family owned public facility with 36 holes along the Huron River in Huron, Ohio, under ten minutes from Cedar Point.
The North plays over rolling ground, with trees along the fairways and greens that are small and demanding. The card shows 6,287 yards from the White tees at par 72, and it rates No. 10 the toughest hole: a par 4 of 424 yards from the Whites.
Bar North opened in 2010 inside the North Course clubhouse, behind the 18th green. It serves chef prepared lunches and dinners with wines, martinis and craft beers, and its large patio lets you watch groups finish. The North's outing facility holds up to 300 guests, and the Thunderbird Hills Driving Range, across from the South Course, handles lessons from a PGA Professional and custom club fittings.
