The greens at Twin Lakes roll in the Donald Ross style. Sandy Alves, who designed the course in 1923, had worked as a construction manager for Ross. Around Cleveland, his designs include both Highland Park courses and Ridgewood in Parma.
It opened as Twin Lakes Country Club. Now it's public, an old-style nine with tree-lined holes that ride up and over the hills, about two miles from Kent State. Weekly leagues play here, and the Lodge has a bar and a snack counter.
