The Mound sits up on a bluff above Miamisburg and the Miami Valley, right beside Indian Mound State Park. Alex "Nipper" Campbell, a Scottish golf professional, designed the course in 1936, and it first opened in 1938.
Expect small greens. The 3rd, the course's No. 1 handicap hole, is a long par 5 that doglegs left twice. Trying to cut a corner just makes it harder, so stay with the fairway.
The 7th is a par 3 with very little margin. Miss left and you're stuck with a downhill lie. Miss right and you're down a 60 degree slope.
Then the 9th, a par 5, gives you a view over Miamisburg. Catch your drive and you can get home in two, but the approach is blind, with the green sitting straight downhill.
