Take the risk on the 13th at Miami Shores, a par 4, and you can reach the green off the tee. From the back tees it's right around 300 yards, and it bends hard left at about 230 yards, which hides the green. Going for it means carrying the trees. Lay up with a mid-iron and there's a somewhat hidden pond on the right.
Donald Ross designed it, and it opened in 1949. The City of Troy owns and operates it. There's a full-length range with a chipping green.
On No. 8 and No. 9 the Miami River is down the left. No. 15 is a short par 5 that doglegs left. A pair of giant trees, around 100 yards short of the green, leave a narrow gap, so some golfers play the whole hole from the No. 16 fairway.
