Since 1992, Harmony Creek Golf Centre has kept an executive course open to the public in Oshawa, and it's a proper test for your irons. Every hole brings water, sand or both into play, with ponds, creeks, bridges and mature trees along the way. The caution carries onto the greens, where most holes have tricky undulations.
The holes all have names, from No. 1, Start Your Engines, to No. 12, The Checkered Flag. No. 6, The Water's Cold, plays as a par 4/3 of 250 yards from the blue tees.
Warm up on a range where 25 tee stations are artificial turf and 25 are grass, or bring the family to the 18 hole mini putt. Master's Lounge has food, pool and sports on TV, the Solarium seats up to 40, and Harmony Hall hosts weddings and private events. A CPGA professional teaches lessons and runs the junior camps.
