Bensalem Township has narrow fairways and large, undulating greens, and its last six holes are the toughest stretch. No. 14 is a 225 yard par 3 played uphill to a green that slopes hard from back to front, with bunkers around it. Then comes No. 16, a par 5 that bends left off the tee with a creek out past your drive. It turns back right to a green guarded by trees and bunkers. On both, you'll want to stay below the pin.
William Gordon designed the par 70 around an old farmhouse and barn, and the club was founded in 1960 as Cornwells Golf Club. When the land faced a possible sale to developers, Bensalem Township bought it in 2006 and kept 140 acres of open space. The Owl's Nest, the club's bar and grill, has been there more than 30 years.
