Pinecrest's back nine sits on land that once belonged to the Sam Henderson family. Mr. Henderson loved the game and wanted the community to share in it. In April 1926, at a YMCA meeting, the club was founded as Brookville Tennis and Golf Club, and Frank Leathers was its first president.
In 1927, local contractor Ray Richards built the clubhouse, and it's still in use. Andy's Golf Shop works out of it, with lessons and iron fittings on the Mizuno Shaft Optimizer.
In 1962, after her husband died, Mrs. Henderson deeded 75 acres in Union Township to the club, and that land gave Pinecrest another nine holes.
