Northwinds sits a half-mile up in the Laurel Highlands, at Indian Lake, about 90 minutes from Pittsburgh. It was the lake's original course: 9 holes that opened in May 1964 as part of the first plan for the community.
Lake Properties bought it in late 1990 and took it to 18 holes in 1994. They're still the owners, and they run and maintain the course themselves. There are men's leagues and a drop-in senior scramble.
