For about 40 years, Range End was private. In 1995 a group of local businessmen bought it, upgraded it and let everyone in. Today it's a mature, fairly open par 71 with the mountains behind it, about 50 bunkers and small greens with open fronts. You'll deal with a brook and three little ponds on nine holes. The course's own card makes No. 12 the hardest hole, and No. 11 is the longest at 537 yards from the blues. The range has lights for an after-work bucket, and there are leagues for the men, the ladies and the seniors. Harrisburg, York, Carlisle and Gettysburg are all within 30 minutes.
