Sand Springs' fairways were cut out of the woods along the Nescopeck Ridge, close to where I-80 meets I-81. The club calls itself "the Public's Country Club," and the Tuskes family took over in 2002. Greens, tees and fairways are all bent grass.
Tee times go off every ten minutes, so the pace stays comfortable. There are putting and chipping areas as well as a range, and Sand Springs hosts several golf leagues.
The Sand Trap Grille and Chooch's 19th Hole Bar are there after the round.
