Londonderry Township has run Sunset as a public course since 1963. Hershey is fifteen minutes away and Harrisburg International Airport ten. The 18 holes play to par 71, and the tips run a bit over 6,200 yards. The nines ask for different games. The front is links style, through fescue and black-eyed susans, and placement beats length. The back turns to tree-lined parkland that climbs and falls, and the signature 10th is a 345-yard dogleg, its green framed by the Susquehanna River. The men's card rates No. 5 the toughest, a 205-yard par 3 from the blues. The hilltop range is all mats, with target signs out to 250 yards, and a practice green sits by the pro shop. Men's and mixed leagues play 9 holes on Tuesday evenings, and the Tap & Snack Bar serves beer, hot dogs, brats and kielbasa, golfer or not.
