The Heritage Course at White Deer runs right through the thick woods of southern Lycoming County, and its opening hole offers a little false hope. After that, the fairways are tight and lined with trees, so hitting it straight usually beats hitting it far. Lindsay Ervin designed it, and it opened in 1990. Locals call it the New Course.
That makes the Vintage the Old Course. It's been in play since the spring of 1965 and was redesigned in the late 1980s to make room for the Heritage. It still has seven holes with water and plenty of tree lined fairways.
The complex in Montgomery adds FootGolf and DiscGolf courses to its 36 holes, and the clubhouse rents the gear if you didn't bring your own.
