The road into Montgomery Bell State Park winds through the forest, and the golf course is right there on the way to the lodge. Its 18 holes roll over gentle hills with hardwoods throughout, and you may spot wild turkeys, deer and geese. It's in Burns, about 45 minutes west of Nashville.
The greens and fairways are both Bermuda, and the park keeps it Audubon and Groundwater Guardian certified.
