Samuel Shackelford built the Fairview House after the Revolution. Legend says the army camped here on its march through the Commonwealth. Today the restored timber house sits beside the clubhouse, looking over the greens, and sleeps up to eight. Downstairs, the publik room has brick floors and a big stone fireplace.
The club was founded in 1966 below the Blue Ridge and the Massanutten mountains, and it plays as two courses now. The Old Course is the former Red and White courses, Raymond Loving's original design with work by Rees Jones. The Titus pairs the Blue nine with nine holes taken from the old Links course.
