Cooley Lake is one of several water hazards at Sly Fox, a family owned 18-hole course in the Shenandoah Valley. The ground rolls, the greens move, bunkers wait for a loose swing, and the Blue Ridge Mountains fill the view. The Blue tees stretch it to 6,513 yards and the Reds play 4,369. Loosen up on the driving range, then spend a few minutes at the chipping and putting areas. The pro shop books lessons. The Men's Senior League plays every week, and once a month the ladies get together for Divots and Divas, a 9 hole league. Afterward, the Bar & Grill cuts its fries to order, pours craft beer, Helles Golden Lager from Sly Fox Brewing Co. among them, and sells wine by the glass or the bottle. Take it out to the deck above the 9th green.
