Aquia Harbour has nine holes, but the second time around isn't a repeat. Alternate tees and pin placements change the back nine, so the 2nd plays as a par 5 and then comes back as a par 4 on the 11th.
It isn't long. The fairways are narrow, though, and the small greens are guarded by bunkers and carry a lot of slope, so your approach and your putter both get tested. On the 5th, the green falls hard from back to front. Stay below the pin.
The course follows the lay of the land and winds through the neighborhood. Playing it for the first time? Ask for a course map.
There's a range with targets at several distances, plus a chipping area and a practice bunker. The Aquia Harbour Property Owners Association opened its course in Stafford to the public.
