Nobody has ever reached the 18th green on the Lakeview Course in two. That's the club's word on it, and the hole is a 620-yard par five, so it isn't hard to believe.
The club singles out one more hole, the 7th. It drops 180 feet from tee to green, with Cheat Lake out in front of you.
James Harrison designed it, and the first nine was finished in 1950. The fairways are tight, the trees close in, and the greens are big with plenty of movement.
Arnold Palmer, Sam Snead and Jack Nicklaus have all played the resort's courses, and Snead and Nicklaus each set a course record. The resort's stay and play packages pair Lakeview with its other course, Mountainview.
