Tameka Woods was built in 1989 by the Hague Family who has built, owned and operated multiple golf courses in the Johnson County area. Tameka Woods offers an enjoyable round of golf for all skill levels from the beginner to the most seasoned golfer. Tameka Woods is an 18 hole, par 72 championship golf course with bent grass greens, tees and fairways, cut out of the land of southwest Johnson County. Tameka Woods has three sets of tees ranging from 5290 yards from the front to 6208 from the back tees. Although not long by today’s standards Tameka Woods makes up for it with it’s design and strategically placed tree lines which makes an accurate tee shot a must if you want to even have a chance to reach the green in regulation. With it’s mixture of holes with tree lined fairways and holes that border on the links style of golf, Tameka Woods is a great place to play no matter what style of golf you prefer. So if you are looking for a beautiful place to play a fun yet challenging round of golf, then make your way to Tameka Woods, where you will experience both.
My buddy Frank turned 55 last spring. The day after his birthday, he walked into our regular Thursday foursome, dropped his bag on the cart, and announced-with the gravity of a man who’d just discovered fire-that he was now officially a “senior golfer.”
“You know what that means?” he asked, eyes gleaming.
I figured he was about to complain about his knees or mention something about fiber. But no. Frank had done his homework.
“I played Stony Creek yesterday. Paid $23 with cart. Twenty-three dollars.” He paused for effect. “The kid behind the counter didn’t even card me.”
