Kentucky Dam Village has picked up a nickname among Kentucky's state park courses: The Grandaddy. Perry Maxwell designed it. It opened in 1950, and the park counts it among the oldest courses in Western Kentucky.
It sits near Kentucky Lake, inside Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park, so you can make a trip of it. The park has lodge rooms and cottages.
The park calls the greens challenging but fair. The fairways are wide bermuda with subtle elevation changes, and the doglegs make you think about where to put your tee ball.
