Silos recently put TifEagle on its greens, a bermuda grass bred just for putting. The club says that means faster greens with less grain.
Brothers Bob and Tim Jones, both from Paducah, bought Westwood Country Club, a 9-hole course, in 1989. Ground was broken on Silos in 1993. At first it was 9 holes, with a little shed as the clubhouse, and within a couple of years it had 18 holes on 240 acres of Western Kentucky countryside. That little shed has since given way to a large clubhouse with the Silos Grill.
Through the season there are couples tournaments, 3-man scrambles and the Jones-Dixon Cup.
