On the 4th hole at Oak Creek, golfers drive straight through an old tobacco barn. The club counts it among its signature holes, a par 4 of 429 yards from the Gold tees that bends left.
Ault, Clark & Associates designed Oak Creek, and it started out in the early 2000s as a private club. Toll Golf bought it in 2013, reworked it as a friendlier public course and added a new clubhouse, reopening on Memorial Day weekend in 2015. Bowieville Manor, built in 1820, shares the grounds. Fairways are bermudagrass and greens are bentgrass, with six tee boxes running from 4,500 to 7,000 yards. No. 16 bends right and makes you carry a ravine off the tee, the longest forced carry Oak Creek has.
