The hardest hole at Moose Ridge is No. 4, a par 5, and the club tells you how to play it. Favor the left. Lay up before the right-side bunker, and you'll have about 150 yards to the middle of the green. If you miss the green, miss right. Don't go long.
Raymond Hearn Golf Designs routed the course over South Lyon's naturally rolling ground. At No. 15 your tee shot carries a lake, and a second lake protects the green's right flank. The 18th is a long par 5 with a green that tilts hard from left to right. Lessons are with Steve Wakulsky, the head teaching pro, who spent 17 years with the David Leadbetter Golf Academies.
The clubhouse is built in the style of a Montana lodge, and the Moose Grille serves a slow-smoked menu.
