Joan and Irv Cowen's families have run Pike Lake since 1961, a few minutes from Mount Forest and Harriston, building it up over the years. Today it's 27 holes around a privately owned, spring fed lake a mile long.
The Links is the 18. It's a links style layout of rolling mounds and tall fescue, winding through mature hardwoods and around environmentally sensitive ground. A 2013 redesign reworked holes 8 to 11. The clubhouse sits above the 18th fairway and green, with a dining room, a patio and a licensed lounge, and anyone can stop in for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
The Lake is a 9-hole course that really does wrap around the water. Architect Robbie Robinson redesigned it, and it finishes with back to back par 3s.
