The clubhouse at Gettysburg National predates the Civil War, and it looks out at the Catoctin Mountains. The course sits in Fairfield, seven miles south of historic Gettysburg, minutes from the battlefields.
Its 18 holes split into two nines with very different characters. A large natural grass practice range, a short game area and a putting green handle the warmup.
After the round, the Grill-Pavilion serves food and cold drinks looking out on the 18th, 9th and 10th holes. Outings get registration setup, cart signs, bag handling, closest-to-the-pin and long drive contests, and scoring. For a longer trip, the course works with Genesis Golf Trips, plus Liberty Mountain Resort and the Hilton Garden Inn Gettysburg, on stay and play packages.
