Skytop's golf goes back to the very start of the resort. Robert White, the PGA's founder and president, was brought in as the architect, and the course was finished in 1928, the year the lodge opened.
It sits on top of a high plateau in the Poconos and plays like a mountain course, with wide fairways between the trees and small greens. Water only shows up on two holes, but there's no shortage of bunkers. Ron Prichard later designed new seventh and eighth holes, and they now head south along Leavitt's Branch.
It's open to the public, not only lodge guests. The golf shop is in The Inn, and Callaway's sits between the 9th and 10th if you want a sandwich or salad.
