Riverview sits beside the Susquehanna River, and going around its nine holes twice doesn't feel like a repeat. The angles change, and so do the shots.
Take the 5th. First time through it's a sharp dogleg right, and when you come back to it as the 14th, it runs straight. From the 5th tee it's the hardest hole on the course, with out of bounds the whole way down the left. Get into the trees on the right and the club's advice is to take your medicine and punch it out.
On the 6th, push or pull a tee shot over the fence and, as the club tells it, your ball could be bound for Baltimore. The railroad follows the river.
Royce Hewitt built the course in 1959. The fairways are lined with trees but wide open, the greens are small, and it's an easy walk.
