Sam Snead's first major came down to the 16th hole of the Pines Course, where a 60-foot chip-in won him the 1942 PGA Championship.
William Flynn and Howard Toomey designed the Pines, and it opened in 1929. The Bay Course has the sea views. The Pines heads into New Jersey woodlands instead, with elevation changes and plenty of doglegs. The bunkers are big and the greens are wide and sloping.
