Gull River Golf Club Details

The Gull River does a lot of the work on this Minden nine. The course curves around the river and Beaver Creek, so three holes play along the water, and the 9th tees off from decks set in the river's hard right bend.

No. 7 is where long hitters get tempted. It turns a full U to the right, and from the back tee it's 230 yards over the hazard to the middle of the green, a blind shot aimed a touch left of the tower on the right, up on the escarpment. Going the long way round takes precision too.

It used to be Beaverbrook Golf Course. Andy Stevens bought the farmland, his son Dave took over in 1971, and the new name ties the course to the river flowing through town.

Afterward, Mulligans Pub and Patio is the place to eat.
