The first swing of the day at Twin Ponds goes right over both ponds, on a par 5 with bunkers lining both sides of the fairway. Water comes into play on seven holes, and many of the greens are well bunkered and full of movement.
No. 10 is the one to think about. A pond guards the right, out of bounds runs down the left, and the landing area is small, so the smart play is a short iron off the tee and then an uphill shot into a tricky green.
The course opened in 1963, just north of Pottstown, and plays to par 70. The clubhouse does breakfast and burgers, and outing groups get their own covered pavilion.
