Pete Dye and his brother Roy built this one from 1969 to 1971 for TRW, on Geauga County land that took in a dairy farm. The old dairy barn still stands by the parking lot. It became Fowler's Mill in 1986, named for early settler Milo Fowler.
Dye's railroad ties, wooden bridges and split fairways survive across 27 holes on the Lake, River and Maple nines. The Lake and River card plays to par 72 at 7,025 yards from the Gold tees. Coastline, the fourth on the Lake, is the signature hole and the No. 1 handicap, a 461-yard par 4 from the Golds.
Leagues need 12 or more golfers a week and rotate over the three nines, and tournaments can take up to 216 golfers. There's a grass tee range, a chipping and putting green and a Grille Room with a full bar and a patio.
