Punderson Manor is a state park lodge in Newbury, inside Punderson State Park, beside Ohio's largest natural kettle lake. The park's golf course is a short trip from your room.
Jack Kidwell designed it in 1969, a par 72 of over 6,800 yards across rolling terrain, with bentgrass on the fairways and greens. The course map counts 45 sand traps and 4 ponds. The back side is where the par 3s and par 5s stretch out. No. 8 is the signature hole, a narrow, wooded fairway that runs downhill and doglegs over a pond.
A full practice facility, a pro shop and a snack bar sit at the course. Lodge guests can book tee times any time in the golf season with their reservation confirmation number, then end the day in a Tudor style manor room or a cabin, after dinner at the Cherry Dining Room by the lake.
